The former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Chief Osita Chidoka, has lauded Abdullahi Sani, a Deputy Corps Commander (DCC) in the agency, for the skills, professionalism, learning mindset, humility, integrity and loyalty he demonstrated while in the service of the corps.

Chief Chidoka, therefore, recommended Sani, who retired from the FRSC on December 7, 2025, to his state government (Kogi), for new assignments, insisting that the retiree still has a lot to offer in the service of his fatherland.

A gallant and intelligent officer from Ankpa, Local Government Area in Kogi State, Sani officially bowed out from the FRSC after 35 years of meritorious service.

Following his retirement, Chidoka made a post on his Facebook page where he recalled that as the Corps Marshal in 2007 he had appointed Sani his Staff Officer, Media, due to the latter’s dedication to duty. He further confirmed that Sani excelled in that position.

With that impressive performance still fresh in his memory, the former FRSC said he believed that Sani still had a lot to offer and that Kogi State would benefit from such a gesture, being his state of origin.

According to Chidoka, the retiree went on to serve two other Corps Marshals in the same capacity, because he was very professional on the job.

The former FRSC boss further said, “Sani was so good that, even later, as Minister of Aviation, I often fell back on him to craft my major speeches. Trust, once earned, has a long memory.

“Beyond work, he kept me informed about his children’s progress. They were a source of pride to all of us, and I was happy—indeed honoured—to be their ‘uncle.’

“Last year, I visited him at his command in Lekki, where he was serving as a unit commander. His office was orderly and professional, and the morale of his staff was evident. I left impressed and deeply proud of him.

“Sani was one of my great human-resource revelations in the public sector and a reaffirmation of a long-held belief: every state in Nigeria has outstanding talent—what often differs is opportunity. Given the chance, our institutions still produce men and women of depth, discipline and integrity.

“I will have no hesitation to recommend him to his state government or any other institution for his skill, learning mindset, humility, integrity and loyalty,” Chidoka said.
