Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris has implored the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), to champion the mantra ‘Renewed Hope’ of President Bola Tinubu, in order to paint a clearer picture of the initiative.

Idris made the appeal at the 50th anniversary and annual general meeting of AAAN, in Abuja with the theme: ‘Fifty Year, Ready for More’.

“We are soliciting the cooperation of the AAAN in keying into the Renewed Hope Agenda of this administration and support government’s commitment to the value reorientation of citizens,” he said.

AAAN President, Steve Babaeko, said over the years, the advertising industry has had a myriad of setbacks.

He said: “Our industry has confronted the dual challenges of macroeconomic headwinds and technological disruption, which have impacted not only our clients’ bottom lines but our own as well. “However, even in the midst of these turbulent times, I firmly believe that the future of our industry holds promise. By standing united as members of the same family, we can navigate these challenges and emerge stronger.” Babaeko, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of X3M IDeas, noted that with the advent of Artificial Intelligence, most of the problems had been tackled.

“Technology can only give us creative wings to fly and that is what Artificial Intelligence is going to do. Nowadays, you can see different concepts originated using AI.

“I think the future is quite interesting. We just need to embrace the change and use them in a creative way to map out a roadmap for the future. The pros outweigh the cons.  “There is a lot of regulatory framework thrown into the space now where they say you can no longer use a foreign face or voice to advertise locally produced products.

“I think those are really reasonable development because we are over 200 million people. Are you going to tell us that you cannot find one face or one voice that can be used to advertise a product?
