CBN slashes interest rates to 26.5%

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has announced a 50-basis point cut in the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) to 26.5 percent. 

 

Governor of CBN, Olayemi Cardoso disclosed this at the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.

 

He said the committee kept the Cash Reserve Requirement (CRR) unchanged for banks and maintained the standing facilities corridor around the Fixed Deposit Receipt (FDR).
