Cavista Technologies, a portfolio business of Cavista Holdings, has announced the fourth edition of its annual Hackathon. The event is scheduled to take place from February 21 to 22, 2026 in Lagos.
This highly anticipated 24-hour challenge provides a dynamic platform for undergraduate students to collaborate and build impactful solutions to real-world challenges. The competition is open to students from tertiary institutions in Lagos and surrounding areas who possess technical skills and a passion for innovation.
Following a rigorous screening process, shortlisted candidates will compete for millions of naira in cash prizes.
Speaking on the announcement, General Manager of Cavista Technologies, Oyebola Morakinyo, said this year’s edition would be more expansive than previous years.
“At Cavista Tech, our goal is to discover, empower, and celebrate Nigeria’s tech talent. By providing a platform where young innovators can showcase their skills, we foster a culture of collaboration, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation, Morakinyo said.
Morakinyo added that the upcoming edition has received significant backing from public and private sectors. “The 2025 edition was phenomenal, but 2026 will be elevated. We are honored to have the support of the Ministry of Youth Development and tech luminaries like Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, who will be present to mentor these young hackers.”
Reflecting Cavista’s global footprint, the hackathon will run simultaneously across the company’s international offices in the United States, India, and Botswana.
Dignitaries expected at the Lagos event include the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, and the Co-Founder of Andela and Future Africa, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, alongside other industry leaders.
