Sir Alloy Olubialu has been elected President General of Nnobi Welfare Organization (NWO), Idemili South LGA, Anambra State.
Olubialu and his team of new executives will pilot the affairs of the town union for the next four years.
The election followed the expiration of the tenure of the past executives led by Barr Dominic Savio Okpala, which ended on 31 December, 2025.
During the exercise at the Nnobi Town Hall yesterday, different quarters presented names of their elected officials, based on the slots cum offices allocated to them; after which the officers were called out for inauguration, according to the constitution of NWO.
The exercise, monitored by representatives of the Anambra State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, led by Mr. Obele Ibeabuchi, was also witnessed by the traditional ruler of Nnobi, Igwe Nick Obi ; the Isiani of Nnobi, Chief John Molokwu; Special Title Holders and many other dignitaries and people of Nnobi.
Olubialu thanked Nnobi people for the confidence reposed in him in electing him as PG, while assuring that his administration will be people-centered.
“My aim is to lead Nnobi to peace and development, and I will deploy dialogue to propel this peace and development.”
He added that his administration would prioritise security, saying that without security, peace and development will become a mirage.
Igwe Nick Obi congratulated the new leadership, and urged them to pursue peace and development; adding that they must carry everyone along in the administration.
The Isiani of Nnobi, Chief John Molokwu, also asked the new leadership to pursue peace so that blessings will follow.
Chief Hamilton Ezeonu (Ikemba Idemili), urged the new officers to pursue development, in order to make the community a destination of choice.
“What I’m saying is that to whom much is given, much is also expected. The people we elected, we’ll hold them accountable based on their promises. But I believe that with the stakeholders behind the new leadership, they will surely succeed. I’m looking forward to making Nnobi a Dubai/Taiwan of sort under this new government.”
Other officers of the NWO according to their offices include: Christian Ibeneme, Ist Vice President General; Charles Obidike, 2nd Vice PG; Aloysius Uba, Secretary General; Michael Ekwe, Assistant Secretary; Ejidike Oramulu, Financial Secretary; Ugochukwu Okudi, Assistant Fin. Sec. and Ejike Oforma, Treasurer.
Others are Okwudili Madunagwu, PRO; Rufus Ojukwu, Circular Bearer; Ebele Mojelo, Circular Bearer; Chukwuebuka Okeke, Circular Bearer; Ogugua Nnemelu, Provost; Odunukwe Anthony Ikenna, Provost and Ben Ezeugo, Provost.
Speaking on behalf of the women, the President General of the women wing of NWO, Lady Ify Nnekwelugo (Odukonamba), expressed confidence that the new PG would deliver result because of his pedigree.
While wishing the new executive a successful tenure, she asked them to unite the community, so that the people would become one and indivisible.
A stakeholder in the community, Chief Joseph Dunu (Ozo Chukwunedu), who also congratulated the new leadership, said that the new PG needs no advice, as he is versatile in the affairs of Nnobi; adding that he came with good intentions in the administration of the community.
“He does not come to office to victimize anybody or to fight the traditional ruler. He has good intentions for Nnobi. Happily too, other chairmen elected in Ngo, Awuda and Ebenesi, who will administer the community with him, are very honourable and patriotic individuals.
“He is a knight of the church and an ex Seminarian. He has respect for the traditional institution, and I believe strongly that he will join hands with the traditional ruler to move Nnobi forward.”
