Cadbury Nigeria Plc has appointed former presidential economic adviser, Rasaq Adedoyin Salami, as an Independent Non-Executive Director, following a board restructuring that also saw the exit of a serving director and the appointment of another non-executive member.

In a notification to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the investing public, the company said the appointment of Salami took effect on March 26, 2026, alongside that of Hisham Ezz El Arab as a Non-Executive Director, while Abhiroop Chuckarbutty resigned from the board effective the same date.

The company stated, “The Board of Directors of Cadbury Nigeria PLC (Cadbury or the Company) has accepted the resignation of Mr. Abhiroop Chuckarbutty who resigned from the Board effective 26th March 2026.”

It added, “The Board has appointed Mr. Hisham Ezz El Arab as a Non-Executive Director and Dr. Rasaq Adedoyin Salami as an Independent Non-Executive Director, effective 26th March 2026.”

Salami, an economist with over three decades of experience across academia, consulting, public policy and corporate governance, previously served as Chief Economic Adviser to former President Muhammadu Buhari and chaired the Presidential Economic Advisory Council. He is currently Chief Executive Officer of KAINOS Edge Consulting Ltd.

His appointment is expected to deepen the company’s board-level expertise in macroeconomic policy, financial sector reforms and market systems development, areas central to operating conditions in Nigeria’s consumer goods sector.

Ezz El Arab brings over 30 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, with prior leadership roles at Danone and Procter & Gamble, and currently serves as Business Unit President for Sub-Saharan Africa at Mondelez International, the parent company of Cadbury Nigeria.

The company said it “warmly welcome Mr. Ezz El Arab and Dr. Salami and wish them well in their new roles.”

Following the changes, the board of Cadbury Nigeria is now chaired by Adedotun Sulaiman, with Folake Ogundipe serving as Interim Managing Director, alongside other non-executive and independent directors including Ibukun Awosika and Kofo Akinkugbe.
