Victor Boniface scored the winning goal as Bayer Leverkusen overcame Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 at the BayArena on Saturday in the Bundesliga.
Following the hard-fought victory, Xabi Alonso’s team snapped a three-game losing streak in the Bundesliga.
Boniface saved himself by hitting the target 18 minutes later after missing from the spot nine minutes earlier.
The 23-year-old has now scored five goals in seven league appearances for Die Werkself this season.
The Nigerian forward was replaced by Patrick Schick 10 minutes from time.
His compatriot, Nathan Tella took the place of Jeremie Frimpong in the 80th minute.
