…To create 50,000 jobs

Nigeria’s Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) has announced a partnership with the U.S.-based SBTS Group to revolutionize the nation’s digital landscape.

This initiative aims to create 50,000 jobs and equip five million young people with vital digital skills by the year 2030.

This effort, according to the Institute, aligns with the Federal Government’s National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy (2020-2030) and seeks to bridge the digital skills gap in Nigeria, empowering youth to compete effectively in the global job market.

DBI President/CEO, Mr. Daser David, described the initiative as a game-changer for Nigeria’s economic future. “Nigerian youth are the catalyst for transforming our nation. To shift from an agriculture-dependent economy to a thriving digital landscape, targeted IT upskilling is essential.

“This initiative bridges opportunity gaps, providing digital training to underserved youth and driving inclusive economic growth. The partnership will see DBI campuses hosting Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) centers, generating thousands of job opportunities,” he said.

Evelyn Lewis, CEO of SBTS Group, emphasised the organisation’s commitment to empowering Nigerian youth.

Lewis noted that despite the negativity and sense of hopelessness often portrayed, there are abundant opportunities in Nigeria.

She said, “We are excited to collaborate with DBI in advancing the Federal Government’s agenda to train and equip unemployed youth with digital skills.

“This landmark collaboration is not just about job creation; it is a strategic move to position Nigeria as a major player in the global digital economy. As the nation accelerates toward a tech-driven future, the DBI-SBTS partnership stands as a beacon of hope for millions of young Nigerians, ensuring sustainable employment, economic diversification, and long-term growth.”

Already, facility upgrades and training programs have commenced at DBI’s Enugu and Kano campuses, with additional locations set for rollout. SBTS Group will provide technical and financial support, ensuring globally competitive, industry-relevant training.

The initiative also promises to promote digital entrepreneurship, integrating over 400 new courses into training curricula and equipping youth with the skills to launch and scale businesses in the digital space.
