Says Gov Zulum makes military op. easy

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen Christopher Musa, has described his Tuesday first visit to Borno State as a homecoming barely nine months after he was redeployed from the state as troops commander.

Musa who was a Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force Northeast, Operation Hadin Kai between 2021 and January this year, returned to Maiduguri on Tuesday for operational visit on as the 18th Nigerian Chef of Defence Staff, describing tge visit as returning home.

“This is a home-coming. I have always looked forward to a day like this when I will come back home to Borno,” he declared during a courtesy visit to Gov Babagana Zulum.

He commended the governor for his support to the military, noting that the collaboration with the security agencies have made the fight against terrorists an easy one.

“You have made our work in Borno extremely easy. If every state is lucky enough to have a governor giving the kind of support to security agencies like Borno, I am sure the security problems would have been dealt with.” the CDS said.

He was accompanied on the visit by the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, Principal Staff Officers from the defence headquarters, among others.

Gov Zulum promised the readiness of the Borno State government to support and collaborate with the military to restore peace.

Gen Christopher Musa was appointed as Nigeria’s Chef of Defence Staff on 19th June about nine months after his transfer from Borno as the Theatre Commander of the counter-terrorism operation in the region.
