Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, at the weekend, visited the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, to convey his deep appreciation for the Service’s consistent support in advancing trade facilitation and bolstering border security in the state.
Governor Zulum acknowledged the strategic significance of Borno State, a region uniquely positioned at the crossroads of Nigeria’s borders with Cameroon, Chad, and Niger. He underscored the imperative of fostering a more robust collaboration to enhance both security and trade flows in this critical region.
His remarks highlighted the vital role that a harmonious partnership with the Nigeria Customs Service plays in addressing the distinctive challenges faced by the state.

Responding, the CGC, Adewale Adeniyi, appreciated the governor’s visit and reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Service to the state. “The support from Borno State has been instrumental in allowing us to effectively fulfill our duties. We remain resolute in our mission to facilitate legitimate trade while ensuring the integrity and security of our nation’s borders,” CGC Adeniyi reassured.
