Ondo-born Street Pop and Afrobeats artist Bobby Richie is gradually attracting attention beyond Nigeria following the chart performance of his song “Loader,” one of the standout tracks from his debut solo EP, Badboy For A Reason
Born Rasheed Olamilekan Soliu in 2002 in Ondo State, Nigeria, Bobby Richie is an emerging musician whose sound draws from Street Pop and Afrobeats, with lyrics reflecting everyday experiences, personal ambition and the realities of life on the streets.
His musical journey took a significant step forward with the release of Badboy For A Reason, his first solo extended play (EP). The project introduced listeners to his developing sound and marked an important stage in his growth as an independent artist.
Among the songs on the project, “Loader” recorded a notable achievement on February 5, reaching No. 4 on the Audiomack UK All-Genres Chart. The performance brought additional attention to the young musician and highlighted the growing reach of his music among listeners outside Nigeria.
For an emerging artist working to establish his identity in a competitive music industry, the chart placement represents an important milestone. It also provides an opportunity for Bobby Richie to introduce his music to a wider audience as he continues to build his catalogue and develop his artistic direction.
Beyond the release of his music, Bobby Richie has received mentorship and professional guidance from New Light City Music, a music marketing company focused on artist development, strategic promotion and long-term career growth.
The company’s involvement forms part of his efforts to strengthen his presence in the music industry and connect with a broader audience.
As Street Pop and Afrobeats continue to reach listeners across different markets, emerging musicians such as Bobby Richie are seeking opportunities to establish themselves through original music, digital platforms and audience engagement.
With Badboy For A Reason serving as an early marker of his career and “Loader” earning recognition on the Audiomack UK chart, Bobby Richie is working towards building a stronger identity in the Nigerian music scene while exploring opportunities for wider recognition.
