The Nigerian film industry has a new stage for celebrating excellence, as organisers proudly announce the launch of the Blue Screen Awards (BSA). Designed to recognize the talent, hard work, and impact of Nollywood actors and filmmakers, BSA will serve as a prestigious annual event that honours the best in African cinema.

Scheduled to take place every Easter Sunday, the Blue Screen Awards will spotlight outstanding performances across various categories, shining a light on Nollywood stars who have made remarkable contributions to storytelling and entertainment.

Speaking on the initiative, Bisi Adeniran stated: “Nollywood is a powerhouse of creativity, and the Blue Screen Awards aims to celebrate the dedication and achievements of those shaping the industry. We want to inspire excellence and ensure that deserving talents receive the recognition they merit.”

With the inaugural edition set for Easter Sunday 2022, the industry eagerly awaits the first recipients of the BSA trophies, marking the beginning of an annual tradition dedicated to Nollywood excellence.
