A businessman, Otunba Hassan Alli, has called on the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and other law enforcement agencies to prosecute the alleged land grabber, Moroof Owonla, popularly known as “Kaka Moroof”, for unlawful invasion of properties situated at No 34 Ferguson Osagie Street, Ayobo and No 2 Peace Street Ayobo area of Lagos State.
Alli accused “Kaka Moroof” of forcefully taking over his hotel at Ayobo with fake judgment, with the suit no ID/1722/92 between Chief Arimiyau Bello Ekundayo and Taiwo Ogunbiyi & 12 others. He said the purported judgment and the survey plan relied on by “Kaka Moroof” had no correlation or nexus with his lands and hotel at Ferguson Osagie Street, Ayobo. He stated this in his letter written to the Federal Government and law enforcement agents, including the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice as well as the Inspector General of Police. He also sent a copy of the letter to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Attorney General of Lagos State and Commissioner for Justice, and, also, the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The petitioner, Alli, is demanding prompt prosecution of the alleged ‘notorious serial and defiant land grabber’, Kaka Moroof, and his cohorts, for terrorism, forceful entry, land grabbing, unlawful invasion and taking over, a threat to the lives and properties of innocent land owners within the Ayobo community.
The elder statesman, who claims to be the bonafide owner of the land, noted that he has the title documents of all his properties. He said the popular defiant and notorious land grabbers in his desperate but unsuccessful bid to forcefully steal and grab his hotel, had, on August 5, 2022, broken into his hotel, chased away workers inside the 33 rooms hotel capacity almost at the completion stage, and forcefully took over.
Meanwhile, the alleged land grabber has a pending case before Justice A. M Oluyemi of the Lagos High Court in Ikeja, in Suit No: ID/1081/12, wherein is facing contempt and committal proceedings.
In the suit, it was alleged that the defendant forcibly entered and demolished a property beside the Ayobo Police Station, covered by a court judgment delivered by Justice Oluyemi on November 18, 2018.
