Billionaire bizman Arthur Eze, expresses joy over appointment as chancellor of Azaman Varsity

Eze

Billionaire businessman, Prince Arthur Eze, has expressed joy over his appointment as the first Chancellor of Azaman University, Kano.

He noted that his appointment as Chancellor of the privately-owned university testifies to its passion for national integration.

Eze stated this during his unveiling as the first Chancellor and inauguration of Azman University Kano.

“I am very honoured to be here with you on the inauguration of the Governing Council of Azman University located in this ancient city of Kano. I am equally humbled by the decision of the founders of the university to choose me as its first Chancellor.

“As you all know, I am from the South East, Anambra State to be precise. And to be made Chancellor of a privately-owned university in the North West of Nigeria speaks to the university’s passion for national integration which is highly commendable.

“It is a passion that I very much share. In the course of my life, I have built personal and business relationships with people across the various regions of Nigeria, particularly the North. I have all my life been a strong believer in a united Nigeria.”

He said he has nn doubt that the institution will contribute to the education sector of the country like the other privately owned universities across Nigeria.

“The establishment of Azman University and the inauguration of its Governing Council composed of distinguished people from all parts of Nigeria calls for celebration. Since about the past two decades, private universities have played a key role in Nigeria’s development, especially as alternatives to government-owned institutions that have often been closed due to strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other groups. Without a doubt, Azman will continue in that tradition of private universities helping to develop the human capital that Nigeria needs to compete in the global arena.”

Eze added that the objectives of the institution ‘to be a world-class institution for human capital development, innovation and research in health sciences, social and management sciences, agriculture, engineering, aviation, arts and humanities’ and mission statement ‘to produce highly skilled and sought after graduates and professionals through innovative research and education, using state-of-the-art technologies ‘are what Nigeria needs at this time of its life, and vowed that he will use his office to help in achieving the objectives and mission.

“As the Chancellor, I pledge to do all I can to help realize the University’s objectives especially it’s core values of academic quality, critical thinking, innovation, entrepreneurship, excellence, social responsibility, and sustainable development. We can’t wait to get started. Once again, thanks for finding me worthy to help lead this effort,” he said.
