Founder of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and the Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has reiterated that the agitation for the state of Biafra must remain non- violent.

Uwazuruike stated this yesterday while reacting to the statement of members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) who had threatened to resort to arms following the killing of members of the group last Friday, in Port Harcourt, during a solidarity rally for President Donald Trump and its leader, Nnamdi Kalu.

He maintained that the philosophy behind the struggle has been non-violence, as Ndigbo could not afford to fight another war.

Uwazuruike, who spoke through the leader of MASSOB, Chief Solomon Oduchukwu in Owerri noted that the threat by IPOB  was a confirmation  of the violent nature of the group led by detained Kanu, which he described as a radical group and admonished Igbo youths to be wary of the actions of IPOB.

Meanwhile, Uwazuruike has urged the new leaders of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze to work for the interest of the people as well as to build a bridge of understanding between the people of the former Eastern Nigeria.

However, MASSOB leader,  Uchenna Madu called for a truce in the recent crossfire between IPOB and  Chief Ralph Uwazuruike- led group, BIM.

In a statement, yesterday, Madu corrected the impression that IPOB was at war with MASSOB explaining that Uwazuruike’s group had long changed its name to BIM following his emergence as the new leader of MASSOB.

Madu, who has always identified with Nnamdi Kanu’s IPOB, urged the group to discountenance Uwazuruike, “because by joining issues with him, they are merely making him relevant; his image and that of his group had been diminished and battered by his actions against Biafra.

“His decision to abandon the struggle for mundane things and his open romance with enemies of Biafra have long affected his integrity, respect and confidence.”

know that he’s living on past shadows.

“MASSOB has a dose of accurate evidences of what Uwazuruike has done against the struggle; acts of sabotage, derailment and other activities against Biafra actualisation and restoration. We know everything with evidences on Uwazuruike’s numerous attempts against Kanu, Benjamin Onwuka and others which God frustrated.

“Those were the days he led MASSOB, when he still had the capacity, strength and followership some years back. Uwazuruike is currently swimming in the deep ocean of irrelevancy and he is datedness; we should stop talking about him.

“Our outburst against Uwazuruike may sound like lamentation which may convey a wrong impression that he is still relevant in Igbo land.”
