The Head of Marketing at BetKing, Nengi Akinola, has said that the company is extending its brand engagement into Nigeria’s entertainment space through a strategic collaboration with the Big Brother Naija reality TV show.

Speaking during the presentation of prize cheques to the Big Brother housemates who won the BetKing task during the show in Lagos, Akinola said the partnership provided an opportunity to introduce BetKing’s exclusive games to a wider, entertainment-driven audience.

“In the past, when you talk about BetKing, the first thing that comes to mind is sports. In the last two years, we’ve been working really hard to increase our offerings to our customers. We wanted to introduce this portfolio to a wider, entertainment-driven audience, and Big Brother provided a good platform to reach those kinds of people. It was a match made in heaven,” she said.

She noted that the collaboration allowed the company to showcase games such as JJ BallX, Danfo Lagos, Fame House, and Dash Me Cash, alongside new TV commercials and special welcome offers for Big Brother fans and BetKing customers. “This is the first time that we are having this collaboration. The possibilities are endless, and we’re still analysing the value that we’ve received from this season,” she added.

Akinola further highlighted BetKing’s ongoing efforts to blend sports, lifestyle, and entertainment, citing initiatives such as the Guinness World Record attempt with JJ Okocha and several public watch parties. She added that the brand will continue exploring partnerships with concerts and lifestyle platforms to enhance customer engagement and “deliver that BetKing experience.”

At the event, BetKing presented prize cheques to winners of the BetKing tasks during the reality show. Team Blue, comprising housemates Kuture, Joanna, Denari, Thelma, Tracy, and Mide, collectively won N2 million for their performance. In a separate fan-led engagement, Imisioluwa Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, won another N2 million after emerging as the top-voted contestant.

While receiving her prize, Imisi, who also emerged as the overall winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, expressed gratitude to BetKing and her fans for their support. “I will utilise very effectively the platform and recognition to expand my career and dreams and give back to society,” she said.

She also highlighted plans to pursue a career in entertainment and acting, with long-term aspirations to explore opportunities in Hollywood. “I am currently overwhelmed by the privilege of becoming the winner. In due time, I will detail Nigerians and my fans on my next line of actions, but I urge Nigerians to look out for me,” she added.
