Turkish Super Lig club, Besiktas has contacted Wilfred Ndidi after Super Eagles air scare, after the aircraft conveying the team suffered a cracked windscreen mid-air.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) informed that the ValueJet Airline aircraft, which was flying the delegation from Polokwane, South Africa, had to make an emergency return to Luanda, Angola, following the incident.

Beşiktaş issued a “Get Well Soon” statement for its player Wilfred Ndidi, who was part of the Nigerian delegation involved in the flight incident.

The statement from the club reads: “The flight carrying our player Wilfred Ndidi, along with the Nigerian National Team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, made an emergency landing in Luanda, Angola, due to a crack in the windshield.

“We extend our best wishes to Wilfred Ndidi and the entire Nigerian National Team delegation. Contact has been made with Ndidi, and we have confirmed that he and his teammates are in good health.”

Galatasaray on its part offered support to the Nigeria national team.

“We also wish the best to the delegation, which includes our footballer Victor Osimhen.”

However, after securing flight clearance, the Super Eagles departed Angola and landed at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, on Sunday morning.
