Benue: APC chair lauds Agbese over quality representation

From Ndubuisi Orji, Abuja

The Benue State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Austin Agada, has lauded the deputy spokesman of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, for his quality representation.

Agada stated this during a visit to the National Assembly, alongside the Benue APC State Working Committee (SWC).
The APC chairman explained that the visit is to enable the party leaders interact with Benue lawmakers elected on the platform of the ruling party on their representation, especially as it concerns the fulfillment of the campaign promises.

He stated that Agbese, who represents Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State, has represented his people through sponsorship of critical motions and bills.

According to him Agbese ‘has been doing his primary function, which of course, is to make laws, to oversight the executive, and to also represent the interest of his people at the federal level.

“So, he has been doing practically well and has sponsored alot of Bills for the good of the people of his constituency and Nigeria at large. But I feel that engaging him at the level of party will also bring a reminder to how we started and where we are going. So that is primarily the essence of my visit”.

Agada, while speaking on the Benue APC, said the party under his watch, said the ruling regained control of Benue politics in the last general election.

He said “we have two senators out of the three Senate seats from Benue State. We have ten House of Representatives members out of the eleven federal constituencies in our state. We won the governorship, we won the presidential election.

“We have 21 House of Assembly Members, including the recent rerun state Assembly that was done in Guma 1 constituency, state constituency. So we have been doing very well as a party.”
