Benin Duke seeks peace, development in domain

The Duke (Enogie) of Iguogie Dukedom in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Festus Osagiede Aiyeki, has task residents of the locality on sustainable peace and development.

He gave the task at his palace shortly after he bagged an award of Excellent Leadership by The Cloud Media Organisation for Good Governance, Leadership and Economic Justice.

The award was in recognition of his contributions to the development and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of Benin kingdom.

Osagiede Aiyeki oversees Iguogie, Igue-otor, Igue-Edobor, Evboro, Okhomwenre Communities in addition to Evbolekpen village where he recently flagged-off the construction of an Ultra modern market at the instance of His Royal Majesty, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, Oba of Benin.

The Duke stated that the initiatives are

geared towards attracting development to the various Communities for economic growth in his domain.

“As  the Duke  of Iguogie, when I was assigned additional roles to oversee Evbolekpen village on behalf of our royal father, His Royal Majesty Omo N’Oba Ewuare II, I promised to ensure overall development and peace across the various Communities under my Dukedom.

“I have done that without recourse to bias, but with focus on inter-community relationship and co-operation,  development and peace that engender economic growth of my Dukedom.”

The Enogie emphasised that his administration is totally committed to the good, development and peace of his dukedom.
