Following the conclusion of the governorship election where Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu emerged victorious and returned for second term, the Eze Ndigbo in Ifako Ijaye, Lagos State, Eze Michael Ezekwobi has urged the governor to be magnanimous in victory by carrying everyone along in his new government.
Ezekwobi in a statement, yesterday, thanked God for a successful election and peace that has continued to reign in the state.
He said despite reports of alleged violence on election day, no post-election violence was recorded in any part of the state.
While congratulating Temitope Adewale, member Lagos State House of Assembly for Ifako Ijaiye Constituency 01 for his victory at the poll, the Royal father urges him to sponsor bills that would entrench good governance in the state.
In the same vein, the Eze appealed to the Igbo who may have suffered losses during the election to see it as part of their sacrifice towards nation building.
Ezekwobi called on the Lagos State governor to look into the case of Eze Chinedu Mozie in Riverine area of Satellite Town who was allegedly manhandled by thugs on the election day and equally detained at SCID Panti.
He appealed to Sanwo-Olu for the sake of peace and on humanitarian ground, to release Eze so he could seek urgent medical attention.
