The chairmen of Badagry Local Government and its Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) on Thursday commended the Chief Executive Officer of the Samuel Mawuyon Ajose (SMA) Movement for his support toward the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic membership registration exercise.
Speaking with journalists after a meeting with APC chairmen and party chieftains at the Badagry Local Government Secretariat in Ajara, the Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, said the meeting reviewed the progress and challenges of the e-registration exercise and the intervention provided by the SMA Movement.
Hunpe, who spoke on behalf of the other council chairmen, explained that the engagement was to brief party leaders on a recent meeting with Hon. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, a prominent APC stakeholder from the area, and his commitment to support the registration process.
According to him, Ajose visited the area to assess the level of progress of the APC e-registration and identify areas where he could assist the party.
“We explained everything to him and, to the glory of God, he has done exceedingly well, even beyond our expectations,” Hunpe said.
He disclosed that Ajose pledged to significantly strengthen the exercise by doubling the equipment and personnel currently deployed to the field.
“He has accepted to assist us by doubling all the equipment and staff already working on the exercise. He also promised to intervene in areas where we are facing challenges, because as a local government, we cannot do it alone,” Hunpe added.

The council chairman described Ajose’s intervention as a demonstration of commitment to the party, noting that his support would ensure a smoother and more effective registration process for both existing and new APC members.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the SMA Movement in Lagos State, Dr. Babatunde Mesiwaku, said the movement had provided 24 brand-new printers and 44 brand-new tablets to facilitate seamless registration across centres in the three councils.
He added that funds had also been released for the training of additional personnel to complement those already deployed by the party.
“In addition, funds have been provided for chieftains’ meetings and mobilisation of old and new members to ensure they can access registration centres and return home without difficulty,” Mesiwaku said.
He assured that the intervention would be sustained. “As long as the chairmen and party leaders continue to inform us of existing gaps, we will keep extending our support,” he added.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Samuel Mawuyon Ajose is one of the leading governorship aspirants in Lagos State on the platform of the APC.
The SMA Movement has also donated essential equipment, alongside cash support, to all 57 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State to boost continuous voter registration and strengthen party membership mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.
