Atiku mourns Warri–Itakpe train accident victims

The presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has expressed sadness over the train accident along the Warri–Itakpe corridor near Agbor, Delta State, which claimed the lives of four Nigerians and left many others injured.

In a statement shared on X, the former Vice President described the incident as “tragic”.

“My heartfelt condolences go to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives.

“I also pray for the speedy recovery of those receiving treatment and wish them strength in this difficult time,” he stated.

Atiku extended his sympathies to the people and Government of Delta State over the “painful” incident.

He commended the swift response of the Delta State Government, emergency personnel, and all those involved in the rescue efforts.
