Atiku claims Oyo, defeating Buhari with 1,461 votes

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has defeated President Muhammadu Buhari of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with 1,461 votes in Oyo State.

The Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for Oyo State, Prof Sulyman, Age Abdulkareem, who is the Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, made the announcement at 5:15 p.m., at the state collation centre at INEC state office, Agodi, Ibadan.

According to him, the APC polled a total of 365,229 votes, while PDP scored a total of 366,690 votes in the presidential poll conducted last Saturday.
