The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of The NAUTH, Associate Professor Joseph Ugboaja has called for more commitment towards patient care from the staff of the hospital. He made this call while addressing members of staff during the event of 2023 clients’ day celebration organized by SERVICOM

Dr Ugboaja emphasized that patient’s satisfaction and quality service delivery are key deliverables of his administration.

He noted that the vision of transforming the hospital to rank among the best hospitals in Africa will not be achieved if patients are not satisfied with the services offered at the hospital.

According to the CMD ” inspite of our giant strides in the acquisition of modern infrastructure and technology at the permanent site as well optimal staff welfare initiatives, we can only achieve our goal if every patient that comes into contact with our system leaves with satisfaction and will be willing to return to us, if the need arises or refers other people in need of care to our facility”.

Dr Ugboaja reminded the workers of the need to always maintain ethical and professional standards as enshrined in NAUTH’s Service Charter when attending to patients and warned that any staff who exhibit unprofessional conducts will be subjected to disciplinary measures as stipulated.

The CMD explained that the ongoing infrastructural development of the Permanent site of the hospital is aimed at providing the necessary ambience and environment for them to offer their best to the patients.

He expressed satisfaction with the Head, Corporate Affairs of the NAUTH, Mrs Chinyere Onwuka for her hard work in ensuring that NAUTH SERVICOM is alive to its duties.

The Head of Corporate Affairs/ SERVICOM schedule officer for NAUTH,
Mrs Onwuka Chinyere in turn, thanked the CMD for attending the 2023 clients’s day celebration and for the support he has been giving to SERVICOM and assured him that the unit will always do its best to ensure client satisfaction at all times.

She also thanked him for providing the items given to the patients in order to appreciate them during this year’s Clients Service Week celebration.

Mrs Onwuka traced the origin of SERVICOM which is an acronym for Service Compact with all Nigerians to President Obasanjo’s administration who initiated the programme to promote effective and efficient service delivery in MDAs in order to ensure clients’ satisfaction.

The highlight of the event was the distribution of various items to the patients in order to appreciate them.
