There are few great men and women alive who have helped define the course of history and shape the destinies of nations that would have epics and classics written about them. One of such few men is the incredible and compelling empire-builder, Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh. This maverick tech mogul is one of the few billionaire businessmen who have written their names in gold by building a fortune through hard work, great investments and strategic positioning.

For a man with a humble beginning, Ekeh’s parade of progress and conquests has been endless. His trajectory code has been one full of inspiring stories. He is well-versed in the semantics of money, after all, he makes his first big bucks while in his 20s and has not stopped ever since.

The well-educated and widely travelled founder and Chairman of Nigeria’s tech powerhouse, Zinox Group is not scared of paving paths and pioneering technological trends. Ekeh —who also has his hands in several other businesses including logistics, energy, media and real estate— boasts of an intimidating resume, international connection and riches. He is one of the few Nigerian business magnates whose business opinions and advisory are often welcome around the world. The string of industry awards that litter his ornate office is evident of his success story, particularly in the technology sector. But the Ubomiri, Mbaitoli LGA of Imo State-born Ekeh exudes a deep awareness of the divine grace that has guided his journey, a testament to his commitment to not only achieving personal success but also uplifting those around him by using his resources and influence to assist those in need.

While age persuades many to ease their stride, Ekeh who will turn 70 on Sunday February 22, continues undeterred. As Africa’s foremost tech icon joins the Septuagenarian Club tomorrow, he has decided not to celebrate the milestone age with a mega party. Rather, Ekeh has decided to offer scholarships to additional 1000 Nigerian indigent students who want to study Computer Science at Federal Universities of their choice.

For Ekeh, who recently was honoured with the Distinguished Star of Imo State award at the grand finale of the ‘Imo At 50’ celebrations, this gesture is to ensure that the country’s private and public sectors could have a new generation of tech whizkids to support the growth of the economy. Also, Ekeh, the holder of national honour of the Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) anticipates that these students who will not be bonded, shall disrupt the global wealth equation in favour of Nigeria and defend her tech independence.
