Tolu Arokodare has said that he had to score eight goals in the Belgian league before he got his first Super Eagles call-up, but every one will notice him each time he scores in the Premier League.
The big striker has made the big transfer to Wolves in the Premier League after his most prolific season in Europe with Genk last season.
“This was the step I had to take. Especially with the national team in mind. In Belgium, I had to score eight times to have a chance of being called up, while in the Premier League, every goal will be noticed,” said Arokodare, who was match winner for the Super Eagles against Rwanda last week.
He admitted that he became a bit frustrated and had to wait until the Transfer Deadline Day before he could complete his move to England.
“Honestly, I’m not really focused on that record fee. But it’s good for Genk and I’m happy, so… It took a long time this summer, but in the end, it all worked out,” he told HLN

“Did it become frustrating at some point? Yes, but as a professional footballer, you have to be able to deal with that.
“My family and friends made sure I stayed calm and never panicked.”
Despite the frustrations at the end, he’ll look back fondly on KRC Genk. “I have so many wonderful memories of Genk. I made friends there who have become family. And I’m going to miss the fans,” he said.
