Arnold John Nobe better known by his monicker “AJ200” is a self taught graphic artist/designer, rapper, performer and stylist based in the San Francisco, California.
AJ whose art shows a lot of authenticity and uniqueness has gotten a lot of attention and recognition from a few art groups like Bay Area Artists and Bay Area Unity. The GEOTAGS & GEO FILTERS he designed and made for snapchat between 2015 and 2017 has gotten over 139.9Million views on snapchat till date.
We caught up with him and asked him about what motivated him designing the geotags/filters. Here is what he has to say.
(1) How did you design the geotags/filters for SnapChat?
He said, “I sketch them first from scratch, then, I take pictures off of it on my phone and then proceed to bring it to life (tracing, coloring and etc) on photoshop.
(2) What motivated you to design and make them?
He replied, “Nothing really. I just want to put myself out there as a graphics designer. I want to expand my career and make myself well known in the Bay area. That was really the my goal, to get recognized as a force in graphic designs.
(3)What was the aim of designing them?
He said; The aim is to motivate and inspire the youth that they could do what I could do and more. That anything they put their mind to can be achieved.
AJ currently attends City College of San Francisco where he hopes to graduate with a Business degree in 2021. He is also known as a “Jack of all trades and master of all”
