The appeal committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) sent to Katsina State to assess the conduct of the  July 29 election of delegates for the forth-coming national convention of the party has commended the exercise, describing it ‘crisis-free’.

“We have been waiting to receive petitions from people concerning the conduct of the elections but nobody came forward to complain,“ head of the committee, Mrs. Fatimah Danjuma, who is also an APC zonal women leader said, on Monday, at a press conference.

According to her, “This is an indication that the conduct of the delegates election was transparent, free and fair and we urge other states to copy the Katsina example.

“The congress was peaceful and the APC followed the guidelines and have everybody the opportunity to elect their delegates in preparation for the forthcoming APC national convention.

“Katsina State is blessed because it has a seasoned administrator in the person of Governor Aminu Bello Masari and it is also the only state in Nigeria to have produced three heads of state for the county.

“The leadership of our great party should continue to think of ways to move the country forward.”

A total of 102 delegates were elected from the 34 local government areas of the state during the congress.
