From David Onwuchekwa, Nnewi
The deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dozie Ikedife jnr, has said his party is a national political party and not a northern party.
He said this yesterday when he visited the palace of Obi Benneth Okafor , the traditional ruler of Umudim, Nnewi , where he also insisted that the APC has a better manifesto than what the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) government has to offer Anambra State.
Ikedife told the audience that APC is a party that could make the Igbo presidency a reality, saying it was time the Igbo identified with a party that would ensure its integration into the Nigeria nation.
He urged voters not to have the wrong impression that APGA is an Igbo party because according to him, the party’s presence has not been felt beyond Anambra State. “The construction of roads is no longer a big deal for a government to beat its chest that it has done a lot for the people. You don’t erect bill boards here and there and make claims in the media that you have done this and done that. Those things done must be seen, not just mere claims.
“Our government will definitely surpass the Obiano administration in every ramification. You know that the APC standard bearer is still a young man who is full of ideas. He will undoubtedly make a significant difference in governance. Any day Obiano and his team comes to Nnewi , let him point to the projects he did for you. There is absolutely nothing, so he has no moral justification to ask for your votes. It is not an overstatement to say that APGA government is a failure,” Ikedife said.
