The executive members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Galadima Ward in Gusau Local Government Area (LGA), Zamfara State, have submitted a letter to the party’s national secretariat suspending state chairman Tukur Danfulani.
“After due consultation with stakeholders and a series of meetings, we have concluded to suspend the State party Chairman Tukur Danfulani,” Youth Leader Abahuraira Ilyasu announced at the APC headquarters on Tuesday.
Danfulani, a registered party member for years and a resident of Galadima Ward, was accused of anti-party activities, including neglecting ward-level activities, causing disunity among members, mismanaging responsibilities, and practising divisive politics.
“The reasons behind his suspension include; lack of paying attention to party activities at the ward level, causing disunity among party members across all levels in the state, misplacement of duties and responsibilities, politics of segregation between party members among numerous issues,” the letter addressed to APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje stated.
The suspension was supported by 16 out of 27 ward executives. The executives urged the APC national leadership to appoint a caretaker chairman to manage party affairs until the next convention.
“We are, therefore, calling on the APC National Headquarters to send a caretaker chairman who will lead the affairs of the party before the next convention,” the letter concluded.
This development highlights internal tensions within the Zamfara APC, potentially impacting the party’s future in the state.
