Tragedy struck on Wednesday night, as an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, collapsed and died after the central referee awarded penalty against the Super Eagles during the semi final thrilling encounter against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
The former member of House of Representatives, who represented Ika Federal Constituency of Delta State, dead watching the Nigerian senior national team in the ongoing Africa Nations Cup (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
Our correspondent gathered from the little information available that the outspoken politician and APC chieftain collapsed following the traumatic experience of the penalty.
According to sources, as soon as the penalty kick was awarded against Nigeria during the dramatic semi-final clash in Bouake, Ivory Coast, he slumped and slide into coma.
