Anti-Social Media Bill passes second reading in Senate

Despite the public outcry, the Senate has passed for a second reading a law to regulate the social media.

The Bill tagged ‘Protection from Internet Falsehood and Manipulations’ was sponsored by Senator Musa Sani.

It has been referred to the Senate Committee on Judiciary which is expected to hold a public hearing. It is expected to report back within four weeks.
