“We are here to say a big thank you to our retired fathers and mothers in uniform. Your years of service and sacrifice have not gone unnoticed,” Ogunjumi said. “As a sports organisation committed to grooming young talent, we understand that without peace and security, sports development would be impossible. We share a common goal of making Nigeria safer and better for all.”
As part of the visit, the club donated high-quality jersey sets to the retirees to encourage fitness, camaraderie and active engagement in post-service life.
In his remarks, DC Akinbisehin praised the initiative, describing it as a morale booster for both serving and retired officers. He commended the club for recognising the link between discipline in sports and discipline within the security sector.
The retired officers expressed appreciation to Ogunjumi and his team for the honour, noting that the gesture reflects growing collaboration between civil society groups and security institutions.
The visit forms part of ANFASSC’s broader commitment to youth empowerment, community development and support for Nigeria’s security forces through sports-driven initiatives.
