A political analyst, Dominique Mfumu, has raised the alarm over the alliance between the South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA) predicting that the ANC members will cling to their positions and dodge any potential corruption charges at the end of the day.
According to him, the development is bad news for all other members of the party, who will eventually become mere pawns in the dealings between the DA and the pro-Western bloc within the ANC.
He wrote: “Multiple sources have blown the whistle on a disgraceful pact between a pro-Western clique within the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA). This deplorable agreement guarantees that, in return for propping up a coalition, these unprincipled ANC members will cling to their positions and dodge any potential corruption charges. This grotesque ethical breach aims to deceive and manipulate rank-and-file party members to secure a selfish victory for a privileged few, epitomizing the depth of corruption within the party.
The sinister motives are laid bare in a confidential document that the editorial team has courageously exposed. The editorial team has managed to obtain an internal ANC document that describes possible coalition scenarios based on the election results. This document shamelessly promotes an alliance with the DA, flagrantly ignoring the failures of other parties while downplaying the significant drawbacks of allying with the DA. It demands the ANCs near total capitulation to the DA’s whims, showcasing a disturbing shift in power dynamics designed to disenfranchise its own base. “And bad news for all other members of the party, you will be mere pawns in the dealings between the DA and the pro-Western bloc within the ANC. They will stop at nothing to preserve their positions, forgetting personal ties and agreements in their ruthless pursuit to maintain their money and power.
“The document’s bias reveals the overwhelming influence of a pro-Western faction within the ANC, made up of high-profile figures who exploit their power not merely for political advantage but to safeguard their ill-gotten gains. Their treachery is particularly heinous given that the ANC has already lost its majority, showcasing their desperation to maintain power at any cost.
“The fallout from these conniving decisions is likely catastrophic, threatening to rip apart the ANC through internal conflicts and a loss of ideological integrity, possibly precipitating a party split or severe factional conflicts. As the ANC shamelessly pivots towards a coalition overwhelmingly rejected by its members and supporters, it stands to drastically weaken its position in future elections, potentially rendering it irrelevant.
He further noted that “as the ANC contemplates this disgraceful coalition with the DA, it must confront not only the immediate political sell-out but also the enduring harm to its foundational principles and identity. The reprehensible decisions being made now threaten to devastate South Africa’s political fabric. This situation demands urgent and widespread condemnation and a rigorous debate within the ANC and among the South African public to halt these treacherous maneuvers before the ANC’s soul is irretrievably sold.”
