A youth group, Anambra Youths for Good Governance (AYGG), has reiterated its stance to support the most qualified and reputable candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by its chairman, Anthony Ojukwu and Secretary, Joy Obiekwe, the group said their resolve to support a candidate with a ‘human face’ and acceptability among the people is devoid of any political affiliation.They stated that among all the aspirants, Chief George Moghalu remained their preferred candidate.
The statement reads in part: “The greatest mistake the All Progressives Congress (APC) would make in its primary election is giving Moghalu’s candidature a second thought .
“We want to reassure the people of Anambra State that our stance for a better governance in the state still holds. We have assessed all the aspirants with thoroughly and Moghalu is the only candidate that we can give our votes to and worry less.
“He has been consistent in his political life and has also done business with a human face. He has proven to be a reliable public office holder and has maintained a high standard of integrity and candour. He is very trustworthy and we are sure he will bring this to bear on his executive duties when he is given the mandate to be the next governor. If his political party wants to win, then a credible and capable aspirant like Moghalu should be given the mandate”.
