Leadership of Amichi, Okpokolo Community in Nnewi South Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra State, have appreciated Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, for appointing one of their own, Miss Chinwe Okoli, as his Special Adviser on Innovation and Business Incubation.

President General of the community, Mr. Akachukwu Umeizudike, gave the appreciation in the remarks he delivered during a visit to the Solution Innovation District (SID), a tech hub in Anambra State.

Miss Okoli, in a statement, said that the visit was marked by an atmosphere of joy and pride as the delegation representing the four quarters of Okpokolo Community, namely, Amangwu, Umunneani, Amaogbu and Umumeagu, extended their appreciation to God and the Governor for appointing Ms Okoli to play such crucial advisory role in addition to driving the State’s innovation and entrepreneurship agenda, thus contributing to the development of the State.

During the interaction, Ms Okoli expressed her delight and gratitude, welcoming the delegation warmly, and seized the opportunity to provide a detailed overview of the mandate of her office, the Solution Innovation District, outlining its programmes, vision, and goals.

Ms Okoli emphasized that the initiative is driven by innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship, offering digital skills training and services across various disciplines, incubating startups across sectors and raising globally competitive entrepreneurs.

She highlighted the significance of the skills in providing the youth with sustainable livelihoods, in growing the business potential of Anambra businesses and creating a more empowered economy.

She further highlighted other ongoing programmes and policies of the government for the development of the State.

Anambra Commissioner of Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, who was present at the meeting, welcomed the community executives and underscored the Soludo administration’s commitment to elevating businesses in the state.

He emphasized that the administration is dedicated to fostering growth from small to large enterprises, with his office playing a key role in spearheading these efforts.

The Deputy Chief of Staff and State Chief of Protocol, Mr. Chinedu Nwoye, who was also in attendance, extended a warm welcome to the community executives.

He pointed out the significance of the visit, stating that it shows a strong solidarity as a community and that such unity results in a continuous development of the community.

He described Chinwe as a great ambassador of Amichi, hence she deserves prayers, support and collaboration of all stakeholders to ensure she achieve more results in her responsibilities.

Before the conclusion of the visit, Ms Okoli graciously took the delegation on a tour of the Solution Innovation Centrer. They expressed profound joy at the warm reception received from their daughter and her colleagues, commending the strides made in innovation and business incubation under Ms Okoli’s leadership.

They concluded this visit by extending a profound appreciation to the Governor for his giant strides in developing the State in less than two years, and choosing capable hands like their daughter, Chinwe, to contribute their quotas, stating that hers is a case of a square peg in a square hole.

They commended her for being a good ambassador of Okpokolo, Amichi, Nnewi South Local Government and Anambra State, and pledged to become advocates for innovation upon their return to the community so more youths and businesses would embrace innovation for sustainable growth.
