Lagos State governor’s wife, Bolanle Ambode, has intensified mobilisation of women in the state for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. She urged them to vote en-masse for the party’s candidate in the Saturday governorship election.
Mrs. Ambode spoke when she embarked on a political rally, tagged: ‘Progressive Vanguard Door to Doors Campaign’ in Epe, Isolo, Itire V. I. and other part of the state.
She said the APC held women in high esteem, assuring them that they will enjoy more empowerment and participation in government if the party wins in the state.
Ambode said if Sanwo-Olu wins Saturday election, more women would be economically empowered by his administration. “That is why you women should do more by coming out in large numbers and cast your votes to ensure Sanwo-Olu become Lagos State governor.
“Sanwo-Olu has promised to include women in his government the same way my husband, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration included and empowered women in Lagos State,’’ she said.
The governor’s wife, who described the APC as light, said darkness and light are incompatible. According to her, a vote for the APC is a vote for more progress, adding that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which represents darkness died in the state a long time ago.
