United States lawmaker, Riley Moore, has formally presented a report alleging widespread persecution of Christians in Nigeria to President Donald Trump at the White House.
Moore disclosed this on Monday in a post on X, where he shared a photograph of himself holding a manila envelope containing the document.
“Just presented our report on the persecution of Christians in Nigeria to the White House,” he wrote. “More to come.”
The submission followed a recent fact-finding visit to Nigeria by Moore and other members of a U.S. delegation, amid sustained lobbying in Washington over claims of what some groups describe as a “Christian genocide” in the country.

Nigeria’s government under President Bola Tinubu has consistently rejected allegations that Christians are being systematically targeted, insisting that the country’s security challenges are driven by criminality and insurgency rather than religious cleansing.
Nevertheless, the issue gained renewed international attention last year when Trump redesignated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern over religious freedom.
In a related development, the U.S. President ordered airstrikes against terrorist elements in Sokoto on Christmas Day, a move officials said was aimed at degrading extremist networks.
Moore’s latest move signals that the debate over religious violence in Nigeria remains firmly on the radar in Washington, with potential diplomatic and security implications for Africa’s most populous nation.
