The Mayor of Urhoboland, Eshanekpe Israel a.k.a Akpodoro has paid a congratulatory visit the newly promoted Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Jonathan Towuru.
The message was contained in a statement he issued in Abuja at the weekend, saying, the promotion was an honour well deserved.
Towuru who served as the Assistant Inspector General, AIG, Zone 6, was promoted and decorated recently in a brief ceremony led my the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun and subsequently posted to the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID, the highest investigative office of the Nigeria Police Force.
He described DIG Towuru as hospitable, polished, impeccable in character, thorough bred and seasoned police officer.
He called on the DIG not to rest on his oars, but should see his promotion as a call to higher duty and recognition of his professional efficiency and aptitude, adding that the people of Urhoboland would continue to pray for his success as he makes the nation proud.
“Put Nigeria first in all you do and always remember that the people of Urhobo nation worldwide will never cease prayer for you. You are a pride to all Niger deltans who believe in the collective heritage of all that bind us as a people of one destiny under God.
“In same vein, I commend the Inspector General of Police, and the Police Service Commission for considering an Urhobo brother worthy of his current exalted position. That’s the peak of police career and we are happy that our own Towuru is serving meritoriously as he demonstrates hardwork laced with honesty and sincerity of purpose. He’s the face of excellent unique policing in the contemporary police institution. A security expert per excellence,” he said.
