Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has reiterated his commitment to the welfare of workers in the employ of the state government, saying his administration would continue to make the welfare of its workers paramount.
The governor assured that he would not deviate from the path he has been toeing since he assumed office in February 2017 regarding welfare of the workers.
He said his commitment to the welfare of civil servants remains sacrosanct, adding that his administration’s resolve to improve civil service could not be reversed.
He disclosed that his administration has paid all the inherited salaries owed by the immediate past administration of former Governor Olusegun Mimiko.

The governor said, “It is only a wicked leader that will deny workers their entitlements.

“Thus, our intention is to serve the people and make their entitlements our priority.
“We have not owed our workers a dime since we assumed office and we are not ready to owe them, no matter what happens,” he assured.
Governor Akeredolu hinted that his administration has elevated no fewer than 16 deserving senior civil servants to the position of Permanent Secretary, adding that within the same period, he also approved about N943 million as car and housing loans for interested workers.
“Just last week, civil servants in the state laughed to their respective banks when they received credit alerts detailing the payment of their 2017 leave bonus,” he stated.
While describing the state civil servants as partners in progress, Governor Akeredolu sought their continued cooperation and urged them to always approach issues with painstaking dialogue.
