Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 14, comprising Katsina and Kaduna states, Mr Umar Nadada, has charged officers to tackle criminals and apply professionalism in discharging their duties.
Nadada said: “I have charged officers to go after the hoodlums terrorising the states and flush them out of their hideouts. We have intensified efforts to curb crimes and criminality. I have warned officers against the use of torture in conducting investigations on suspects.
“Today, there is peace in the North East, because criminals are relocating from the states. No stone will be left unturned in ensuring effective crime prevention, management, and control in the states.”
He appreciated officers for their support and co-operation and commended their efforts in ensuring positive, timely and effective national security reportage.

He said: “Stakeholders agreed to collaborate with the police and share intelligence to tackle armed robbers and kidnappers. They pledged to support police operations including providing information and assisting in the arrest of perpetrators.
“Officers are encouraged to imbibe community policing and shun corruption. They should follow rules and regulations of the Police Act and human rights in dealing with the public. The commands should intensify patrols and surveillance. Strategic deployments are made to cover vulnerable spaces to ensure maximum security.
“The zone security architecture was enhanced to accommodate veritable tool for clampdown on criminal elements through the adoption of robust inter-agency collaborations, capacity building for police officers through training and retraining, amplified community policing engagement, advanced intelligence and technology-driven policing, and increasing the law of supervision of our officers and men.”
