All roads led to the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos on Saturday, April 8 as entertainment mogul and founder of AFRIMMA Awards (African Muzik Magazine Awards), Anderson Obiagwu celebrated his 50th birthday amidst pomp and panache.

Fondly called ‘Big A’, Obiagwu is considered one of the most respected figures in the African diaspora entertainment, and has worked with some of the continent’s most prominent entertainment exports. Accompanied by his beautiful and elegant wife, Ifeoma and first son, IK, Obiagwu danced to the choruses of friends and family members.

The birthday party had notable celebrities like Flavour, 2face, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, E-Money, Kcee, Chima Anyaso, Obi Cubana, Phyno, Timaya and Bovi celebrating with Obiagwu and family.

A vividly excited Obiagwu said: “I feel great, more youthful and generally thankful to be here.

I will always be grateful to everyone who has supported me and showed up to celebrate with me tonight. It is indeed a milestone worth celebrating.”

Aside being a significant contributor to the music industry, the celebrant is also a humanitarian, who has done much in philanthropy through his foundation and annual Christmas parties for children.

On her part, Ifeoma Obiagwu said, “He is an amazing husband, father and friend to all. It’s been more than two decades of bliss, laughter and love. God has been faithful to us.”

In his remarks, 2face Idibia stated: “When you look around and see the number of musicians that came to celebrate with Big A, you’ll know it is a testament to who he is and his contribution to the industry.”

It was, however, a weekend of double celebration, as Ifeoma Obiagwu also turned a year older.
