Afri Invoice Nigeria Ltd has secured official accreditation from the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), formerly the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), as a system integrator for Nigeria’s mandatory electronic invoicing platform under the Merchant Buyer Solution (MBS).

The accreditation positions the company among the select organisations authorised to connect businesses directly to the NRS real-time invoicing infrastructure for secure and compliant digital tax reporting.

The development is seen as another major step in Nigeria’s ongoing digital tax reform initiative aimed at improving transparency, compliance and efficiency in tax administration.

Industry stakeholders say the accreditation further strengthens Afri Invoice’s growing reputation in the digital tax and compliance space, placing it alongside leading accounting and advisory firms driving technology-led tax solutions in the country.

Speaking on the milestone, Founder of Afri Invoice, Mark Odenore, described the accreditation as significant for both the company and Nigeria’s evolving tax ecosystem.

According to him, “e-Invoicing embeds tax compliance directly into everyday business activity. As transaction data moves into real-time digital systems, organisations must be able to rely on that data for tax reporting, audit and regulatory review.

“This accreditation reinforces Afri Invoice Nigeria Ltd’s role in helping organisations build trust, comply and report with confidence. We combine deep tax and regulatory expertise with technology to ensure e-Invoicing processes are accurate, empowering businesses to comply.”

He noted that the global shift toward real-time digital reporting and transparency makes it imperative for Nigerian businesses to embrace compliant invoicing systems.

“Our mission is to help businesses navigate this shift, manage complexity, protect value and build trust across the tax ecosystem,” he added.

Afri Invoice said it had invested early in tax technology, enterprise integration systems and regulatory intelligence long before the Federal Government intensified implementation of the e-Invoicing mandate.

The company stated that its solutions are designed to help organisations transition from manual invoicing processes to fully automated and digitally compliant workflows.

Strategic Lead and Operations Director of the company, Fatimata Niang, said technology alone was not sufficient without proper tax expertise and regulatory understanding.

She explained: “Technology can automate invoicing. However, interpreting tax requirements and managing risk require tax expertise. E-Invoicing works best when tax rules, data controls and enterprise systems are designed together.

“Our tax technology capability brings tax advisory expertise into technology execution, enabling organisations to manage complexity, maintain control and rely on e-Invoicing as compliance becomes embedded into their operations.”

With the accreditation, Afri Invoice will now support businesses in integrating their invoicing systems with the NRS MBS platform, strengthening internal controls, improving data governance and ensuring real-time invoice validation and transmission.

The company added that organisations adopting compliant e-Invoicing systems stand to benefit from reduced operational risks, improved accuracy and enhanced regulatory confidence.
