Governor Ademola Adeleke has also expressed optimism that the people of the state would re-elect him for a second term in next year’s gubernatorial poll.

He stated this shortly after he appeared before the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Screening Panel for the Osun State governorship primary, yesterday, in Abuja, expressing optimism that the next governorship election in Osun State would be free and fair.

The governor, while stating that he is loved by the people of the state because he had performed well in his first term, said the PDP in Osun State is united as a family.

According to him, “I  am so confident I’m going to win. If I can defeat an incumbent, and now that I am the governor, within two years, it is unprecedented what we have achieved in less than two years.  I am so confident that nobody can beat us there.”

Adeleke, who said the people of the state should expect more performance, if he gets a second term, noted that it would be “more goodies all the way throughout Osun State. We will be dancing and we’ll be working.”

The governor added that he was not scared of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying, “How can I be scared? I am too popular. Anywhere I go, everybody says Imole! Imole! What are you talking about?

“Anywhere I go, throughout this country, even in the APC, I have some friends in the APC and in other parties. Just take APC as a case study: anytime they are having a party or an event, I will go there and I will  take over, because they all love me.

“So,  you see, if you are not performing, that is when you will be scared. When you have your people behind you, you don’t have to fear.”
