From Abel Leonard, Lafia

The Catholic Bishop of Lafia Diocese, Bishop David Ajang, has urged the government to urgently address insecurity and high level of hunger in the country.

Ajang made the call while presiding over the Thanksgiving Mass of the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe at St Aloysius Catholic Church, Doma, Doma Local Government Area, yesterday.

The Bishop said that addressing insecurity and hunger would not only promote peace but would also improve the standard of living of Nigerians.

“This is a critical time. Security is a big problem, the second is hunger. I think something needs  to be done. You see, demonstration is not for anything, but because of hunger,” he said

The Bishop, while quoting various verses in the holy Bible, said Christians and other Nigerians must shun evil acts in order to inherit the kingdom of God

He urged the youths and other Nigerians to desist from cybercrime, known as Yahoo, and other negative acts in order to inherit the kingdom of God, and for the overall development of the society.

“Before, people do yahoo in hiding, but today, they are proud to do yahoo in public; that has become a business,” the man of God said.

He also urged Christians to worship only God, and shun the devil. “Worship only the Lord your God, and only serve him.
