The courtesy visit is part of ADC’s membership drive to consolidate on the coalition efforts to build a mega party.
Hon. Moshood Adegoke Salvador, a former chairman of the PDP and senatorial aspirant of the Labour Party received ADC executives alongside key stakeholders of Lagos politics.
Mabel Oboh, the Director of Communications for ADC Lagos, shared this information in a statement made available to the press. During the visit, Hon. Salvador expressed his interest in joining the ADC coalition along with his Conscience Forum.
In response, Hon. George Ashiru, the ADC Lagos State Chairman, warmly welcomed Hon. Salvador and his group into the party. He emphasised that the ADC is open to everyone, regardless of background or ambitions. “We welcome people with diverse aspirations and encourage them to work hard to increase their visibility at the grassroots level, which is the foundation of our party,” he stated.
Hon. Ashiru further reiterated the party’s commitment to the democratic process, asserting that the ADC believes strongly in a fair method for selecting future candidates. “We condemn any approach that undermines democratic principles,” he added.
According to Oboh, the ADC Lagos leadership is actively engaged in consultations with various prominent groups and individuals who share the party’s vision for a better Lagos. “The ADC Lagos leadership is currently making rounds to pay courtesy visits to different coalition groups, notable Lagosians, market women, and traders to share the party’s ideology and plans for the betterment of Lagos in preparation for the 2027 elections,” she noted.
The ADC’s open-door policy underscores the party’s commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive movement. As the party continues to engage with new members, it is evident that the ADC is poised to play a significant role in shaping the future of Lagos.
Hon. Ashiru concluded by stating that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a progressive party dedicated to creating a better Lagos for all. “Our party’s vision is to establish a society that is prosperous, equitable, and just. We believe in the power of the people to shape their destiny and are committed to empowering citizens to participate actively in the democratic process.”
ADC executives present at the gathering also included, Magistrate (Rtd) Roseline Giwa-Amu, Deputy Chairperson; Festus Duru, State Secretary; Dr. Muhammed Ogidi, State Organising Secretary; Hon. Adebola Adeleke, State Treasurer; and Mabel Oboh, Director of Communications for ADC Lagos.
