Executive Chairman, Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Dean of SUBEB chairman in the North Central, Dr Grace Adagba, has applauded the Nasarawa SUBEB stakeholders’ summit
According to her, the summit held recently in Lafia, the state capital, provides a platform for strengthening collaboration across the region.
“This summit reflects our shared commitment to improving basic education in the North Central. By exchanging ideas and best practices, we enhance our systems and ensure better learning outcomes for our children,” she said
The theme was, ‘Revitalising the future of basic education in Nasarawa State.’
Governor Abdullahi Sule, who officially declared the summit open, also commissioned chairs to be distributed across schools in the state, as well as mini buses to be used for sensitisation activities.
Governor Sule assured the Executive Chairman of Nasarawa SUBEB, Dr. Kassim Muhammad Kassim, that all the demands presented, including the increment of teachers’ salaries, would be implemented to motivate and enhance performance. He expressed admiration for his youthful energy and dedication in tackling challenges in the basic education sector.
Dr. Kassim reaffirmed the Board’s resolve to reposition basic education in the state, saying, “Our goal is to build an inclusive, technology-driven basic education system that prepares every child in Nasarawa for the future through the A. A. Sule project, code-named, ‘Leave No Child Behind.’ This summit enables us to engage stakeholders and refine policies for quality and sustainable education.”
He highlighted several achievements under the present administration, noting that Governor Sule had approved the recruitment of 1,000 new teachers, provided instructional materials, constructed new classrooms, supplied furniture and delivered other infrastructure necessary for conducive teaching and learning across the state.
Dr. Adagba was accompanied on the trip by key officials of Benue SUBEB, including the Board Secretary, Dr. Joseph Jande; Director, Monitoring and Evaluation, Patricia Gbuuga; Special Assistant (Technical), Dr. Eric Gowon and Procurement Officer, Dr. Shimadoo Mtswenem.
