Abuja: IGP set to launch Special Intervention Squad to tackle kidnapping menace

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, is about launching a Special Intervention Squad(SIS), to curb activities of kidnappers ravaging havoc in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory(FCT).

The special operations which will be launched any moment from now would be deployed to all the Area councils in the FCT.

For sometime now, residents of Bwari in the FCT have come under attack from activities kidnappers who have kidnapped several members of the communities killing some in the process following delay by their family members to pay ransom.
