The Abia State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has dismissed Corporal Obagi Njok for his involvement in the shooting and killing of a businessman, Emmanuel Okocha, in Aba.
Corporal Njok shot and killed Okocha approximately two months ago at a police checkpoint on Aba-Owerri Road, without provocation.
A statement released by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Maureen Chinaka, stated that disciplinary actions have been concluded and that relevant stakeholders, including the family of the deceased, were involved at every stage of the process.
Chinaka confirmed that Corporal Njok was found guilty of discreditable conduct and misuse of a firearm and has consequently been dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force.
