Former Spain international Sergio Ramos has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo’s retirement from international football, following the Portuguese forward’s announcement on Thursday.
Ramos, who was Ronaldo’s teammate at Real Madrid, combined humour with a message of appreciation in his reaction to the Al-Nassr forward’s decision to retire from Portugal’s national team.
The former Spain defender, who won four UEFA Champions League titles alongside Ronaldo at Real Madrid, commented on the Portuguese star’s Instagram post.
His reaction was shared by @MadridXtra on X.
Ramos wrote: “Oh, really…?? Ahahahah. What a legend; time to enjoy other things in life.”
Ronaldo’s retirement comes weeks after falling out with Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus, which resulted in a fine and a 30-day suspension.
